Planvember Day 12 | 2018 Goal Planning Page

Hello, again, my fine friends! This morning, we had another awesome Live Facebook Journaling session. If you’re not already on board with our journaling sessions, head over to my Facebook page, hit like, and turn on your notifications! Here’s what we’ve been working on…

I’m done with most of my long-term planning pages, so it’s time to look at 2018 with laser-focus. For my goal-setting, I took advice from Tony Robbins. I’m building goals with a purpose in mind. I’m also creating a dedicated page in my journal to those goals. They deserve to be committed to paper.

This page is divided up into two basic goal sections. Let’s take a peen at them…

Goal Planning Chart: This area is for defining goals, understanding their purpose, and developing a specific action plan to get them done. We’re talking specifics! Check out my goal-setting post for tips on setting S.M.A.R.T. goals.

Less-Measurable Goal Scale (a.k.a. The Smiley Faces): The only problem with limiting yourself to measurable goals is that not everything in life can be put into numbers. For those, I came up with a 5-point scale. See those blank lines to the left of the smiley faces? I might fill it in with something like “Be Flexible” or “Live Mindfully.”

Those are very broad and highly subjective objectives, but they’re still important to me. So, I’ll make a mark above the face that I believe represents my current state. At the end of the year, I’ll sit down with this same chart and make a mark where I end the year. It’s pure self-assessment, but I find it useful.

Ok. That’s enough for now. I explain the rest in the video!

If you’re new to this blog series, here’s the basic rundown… Every weekday of November at 10:30 central time, I’m bringing you a new journal video LIVE on my Facebook page. I wanted to do this in real-time for a few reasons:

  1. You get a realistic idea of how much time to set aside for journaling. It can be frustrating to watch the “YouTube Magic” happen in 10 minutes, only to find out you need an hour to recreate the page. You get the real deal with my live videos.
  2. You can ask questions and give suggestions.
  3. It’s more fun to interact with you live!

Scroll down to watch the video. As promised, I’ve included all the links below for your convenience.

When it comes to supplies, I usually think it’s best to start with what you have. Supplies aren’t as important as how you use them!
